One of the most important sources of dust are wetlands, lakes, and water bodies which are de-watered due to water shortage or human intervention. In addition miss- management of sand mines in the fringe of cities is another source of dust.
SPI co. with more than 30 years experiences in engineering studies in the field of water and environment has played an important role in safeguarding of water bodies. Our activities in bed and fringe delineation and regulating of rivers, wetlands, lakes and restoration of water bodies had its impacts in decreasing dust problems. Studies of bad and fringe delineation of several wetlands and lakes such as, Bamdezh, Gaz, Shoor & Shirin, Khoor-Khooran, Hadish, Poldokhtar, Tanoordar, and lakes of Hoze-soltan and Namak are among our important projects in this regard.
Our experiences in this field was at such a high level, that preparation of ” List of Services for Determination of bad and fringe of wetlands and lakes” which is published by Ministry of Energy, and Planning and Management Organization is done by SPI.
One of other important project which had an impact on reducing of dusts in Tehran was organizing the Karaj river footage, and sand mines in South West of Tehran. In this study by restoration of different branches of Karaj River, and ground water recharge, the possibility of aquifer stabilization, and expansion of green area and reduction of dust is provided.
